We asked surfer Austin Smith-Ford from the east side of Santa Cruz, California, about his favorite boards (for board reference, Austin is 5’8″ and 150 pounds).

Surf Wanderer:  What is your current favorite board? 

Austin Smith-Ford: I ride the 5’4” x 19.25″ x 2.38″ Ozzie Wrong Santa Cruz model a lot. Its a really good all around board for when the waves are smaller.

SW: What kind of waves do you mostly surf in? 

ASF: Well living in Santa Cruz I mostly surf right hand points. Its pretty much the majority of our waves up here. Definitely not complaining.

SW: If your not surfing that board, what do surf instead/want to surf instead? 

ASF: I like to experiment a bit. Try out whatever i can get my hands on, nothing in particular.
