We asked surfer Tarik Khashoggi from Santa Barbara, California, about his favorite boards (for board reference, Tarik is 6’0″ and 185 pounds).

Surf Wanderer:  What is your current favorite board? 

Tarik Khashoggi: J7 5’10″ x 19″ x 2 3/8″ “Whatever” model & J7 6’1″ x 18 3/4″ x 2 3/8″ ”Situation” model.

SW: What kind of waves do you mostly surf in? 

TK: Mostly in the chest high to barely overhead range, point breaks/beach breaks considering we’re in Santa Barbara but try to find as big a barrels as possible when I can. Then I’m jumping up to a J7 6’9- 7’0 XL1 or if I have the Ski out its doing step off’s on my J7 6’1 OG. 

SW: If your not surfing that board, what do surf instead/want to surf instead? 

TK: The other board I have really been enjoying riding is a J7 5’8 Pill. Really fun all around board that works great for spring/summer here in Santa Barbara.
