We asked surfer Jonah Pierce from Pismo Beach, California, about his favorite boards (for board reference, Jonah is 5’4.5″ and 117 pounds).

Surf Wanderer:  What is your current favorite board?

Jonah Pierce: My current favorite board is a Wahl board, shaped by PJ Wahl, based off the design off a Fred Rubble and a Cheese Stick. The dimensions are 5ft.4in. height, 17 1/2in. width, and 2in. thickness. This board was created to be really well rounded; it can ride in knee to just over head surf, and it can launch and get on a rail..

SW: What kind of waves do you mostly surf in?

JP: I mostly surf beach breaks and reefs, but being a competitive surfer I ride everything.

SW: If your not surfing that board, what do surf instead/want to surf instead?

JP: My back up board is designed after a Fred Rubble type board, so it has less rocker to make more speed. The dimensions are 5ft. 3in. height, 17 1/4in. width, and 1 15/16in thick. It is also a Wahl board shaped by PJ Wahl.

Jonah is sponsored by Quiksilver, DVS, Central Coast Surfboards (surf shop), On A Mission, Oakley, and Wahl Surfboards.
